Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Associate Director provides leadership and human resource consulting expertise to a team of Strategic Business Advisors to deliver exceptional support and customer service by advising colleges/units on HR issues-management, including employee and labour relations matters and associated processes.

The Associate Director is accountable for implementing strategies and building a team culture that ensures high-quality human resources advisory services and processes by supporting the implementation and delivery of the people strategies that assist the colleges/schools/units in achieving its goals, priorities and operations objectives.   This leadership/supervisory role collaborates with key stakeholders across the university.

The ideal candidate possesses a relevant degree along with a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience leading, supervising and developing Human Resources teams, preferably in a unionized environment. A Certified Human Resources Professional designation is an asset.  The incumbent will bring to the role advanced subject matter knowledge of multi-functional Human Resources business areas with strong customer-service orientation, innovative problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills and effective relationship-building capabilities.
