Location: University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, SK, Canada (Cancer Cluster)
Position Description: Projects to study how cells control the degradation of growth factor receptors via the lysosomal-mediated degradation pathway. The results of these studies will provide the basic understanding required for the development of new treatments aimed at reducing receptor levels, and will hopefully reduce the aggressive growth properties of cancer cells that overexpress growth factor receptors. We are also interested in the regulation of the PTEN tumor suppressor protein and have ongoing projects in this area. PTEN regulates tumor formation and is also important in type II diabetes.Eligibility Requirements: Candidates must have a PhD in the biological sciences and have relevant experience in cellular and/or molecular biology. Applicants with experience in fluorescence microscopy, tissue culture, molecular biology and/or protein techniques are particularly encouraged to apply.
Salary & Duration: Initial one year appointment with $40,000 - $45,000 (Can $) annual salary, may be extended to three years on basis of performance and available funds.
Deadline: The position is available immediately and will remain open until filled.
To apply: Please send your curriculum vitae, undergraduate/graduate transcripts, a one page description of research interests/future goals, and the names and contact information of 3 references to:
