Vice-President Finance & Resources
The University of Saskatchewan is currently seeking candidates for the position of Vice-President Finance & Resources.
Reporting to the President, the Vice-President Finance & Resources is a member of the University’s senior leadership team and plays a central role in defining and achieving the institution’s strategic directions and priorities. In addition, the Vice-President Finance & Resources provides leadership, oversight and stewardship for all aspects of the university’s financial functions; capital, space and facilities; human resources; ancillary services; and enterprise risk management. The Vice-President Finance & Resources enables the President, the University Council and the Board of Governors to make timely, responsible, and creative decisions that optimize the generation and use of university resources, manage risk appropriately and maintain transparency. The Vice-President also represents the university’s governance and fiduciary responsibilities in service to university corporations, centres and independent organizations. Beyond the university, the Vice-President Finance & Resources provides, or enables the university to provide, appropriate information to and liaison with municipal, provincial and federal ministries and departments, other post-secondary institutions and various other external agencies and organizations.
Qualifications include a relevant advanced degree and at least ten years of progressive experience in an academic or competitive business environment with recent experience at a senior leadership level. The ideal candidate is expected to have a strong record of achievement leading the financial and administrative affairs for a large, complex organization; demonstrated success in developing a shared vision and leading people to achieve exemplary performance and outcomes; outstanding organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to think analytically and creatively in support of the university’s aspirations and strategic imperatives; and, the proven ability to encourage innovation and collaboration and connect with the academic community.
