Salary Information:  $3,098.55 to $4,182.97 per month (Operational Services, Phase 4).  The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience

Primary Purpose: To provide support to College of Kinesiology programs by processing payroll, purchasing, vendor payments, cash/credit card deposits and other basic accounting functions.

Nature of Work:  Reporting to the Financial Officer, this position works closely with numerous staff employed within all areas of the College.  Requires attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and is subject to time constraints. The incumbent is expected to operate efficiently and independently in a busy, technology-driven environment, subject to frequent interruptions and multiple deadlines.  Work is of moderate complexity and will be assisted by the supervisor in determining appropriate action for complex issues.

Typical Duties:  Process monthly payroll and hourly time reports for student assistants within College of Kinesiology programs such as Huskie Athletics, Campus Recreation, Community Programs, Campus Fit Centre, PAC equipment rooms, and other employee groups.  Prepare purchase requisitions; submit invoices and online receiving reports.  Process pcard payments, complete daily cash reports and cheque/service income requisitions. Assist support staff when necessary with the processing of reconciliations and batch closeouts for the general office and Fit Centre.  Oversee college petty cash fund.  Assist with facility bookings and process all invoices of outside rental clients through the R25 Facility Booking System.  Perform other general office duties such as photocopying, filing and record-keeping.  Assist the Dean’s office in the absence of front desk staff.  Other related duties as assigned.     

Qualifications
Education: Completion of Grade 12 and a recognized one year post-secondary business or administrative program.

Experience: Three to five years directly related experience.  Knowledge of and experience with UniFi/UniFi Plus and About-Us payroll forms and processes is required.  Detailed knowledge of the collective agreement for CUPE 1975 Facility and Program Assistants (FAPA) is required. 

Skills:  Proficient IT skills, including the ability to work with UniFi, About-US, Excel, and other MS Office software.  Ability to handle and reconcile cash and credit card deposits; ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of college staff and students in a professional and friendly manner;  ability to meet deadlines; demonstrated initiative, accuracy and attention to detail; effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to handle tasks with discretion and confidentiality; ability to multi-task in a high volume office environment with multiple interruptions and conflicting deadlines; proficiency in all aspects of office work.
